They provide individual and group counseling sessions covering topics like relapse prevention and behavior modification, while also managing caseloads and coordinating necessary aftercare services.
Educational and experience requirements vary significantly based on degree level, ranging from 6 years of experience for a high school diploma/GED to 6 months of experience for Bachelor's/Master's degrees in a related field. Candidates must possess basic knowledge of psychosocial development, group dynamics, conflict resolution, and mental health disorders, along with strong communication and active listening skills.
