About the role

The Audiologist is responsible for all audiology testing and diagnostic testing on ENT patients to determine the extent of hearing capability or disability within the UMG Greenville ENT Facility. This includes assisting with documentation, patient interaction regarding assessment and plan, and ensuring correct and prompt billing through complete documentation.

Job Summary

Responsible for all Audiology Testing in the UMG Greenville ENT Facility. Responsible for the Diagnostic Testing on ENT Patients to determine extent of hearing capability or disability. Also Assist with the Documentation and Patient Interaction with Regards to Diagnostic Testing, Assessment and Plan. Complete Documentation and Proper Encounter Forms to assure Correct and Prompt billings.

Examine patients who have conditions related to the outer, middle, or inner ear.

Assess the results of the examination and diagnose problems efficiently and accurately.

Create appropriate and thorough treatment plans to meet patients’ goals

Proficient with hearing aids and other assistive listening devices.

Counsel patients and their families on test results, recommendations, communication strategies, and hearing loss prevention.

Evaluate patients regularly to monitor their condition and modify treatment plans as needed.

Record patient progress and complete reports in a timely manner.

Research the causes and treatment of hearing and balance disorders when applicable.

Educate patients on ways to prevent hearing loss

Exercises sound clinical judgment in all issue of healthcare including proper referrals and follow-up care.

Upholds the standard of professionalism and remained dedicated to clinical excellence.

Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations.

Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by hospital or clinical requirements.

Performs other duties as assigned.

  • In lieu of education and experience noted above, an equivalent combination of work/academic/certification may be considered (i.e., Master's degree and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) through the American Speech – Language- Hearing Association)
  • Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
  • Licensed audiologist - C050
  • Au.D South Carolina state board of Labor, Licensing, and Regulations (if applicable)
  • Fellows of the American Academy of Audiology - Preferred

Requirements

The minimum education requirement is a Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.), although a Master's degree with CCC-A may be considered as an equivalent combination. Applicants must be licensed audiologists in South Carolina and proficient in examining ear conditions, diagnosing problems, creating treatment plans, and counseling patients and families.
