About the role

The role involves providing critical care nursing services in specialized units such as Trauma, Cardiovascular Surgical, Medical Surgical, Burn, and Neuro Intensive Care at University Medical Center New Orleans. Nurses will manage patient care with ratios typically set at 2:1, or 1:1 for high acuity patients.

University Medical Center New Orleans is seeking experienced critical care nurses for the following units: Trauma Intensive Care, NEW Cardiovascular and Surgical Intensive Care, Medical Surgical Intensive Care, Burn Intensive Care, and Neuro Intensive Care.

Some accreditations include Level 1 Trauma Center, Verified Burn Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center.

  • Day/Evening ICU tours
  • 2:1 patient to nurse ratio
  • 1:1 patient to nurse ratio for high acuity patients
  • Self-scheduling via Smart Square

The Must-Haves

Minimum:

One year of critical care experience.

Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.

Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a minimum of one year of critical care experience and hold a current nursing license valid in Louisiana as defined by the State Board of Nursing. Required certifications include current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS.
