The nurse extern is responsible for technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities while working under the supervision of a registered nurse. This role involves providing essential assistance and comfort to patients, ensuring they receive the best possible experience during their healthcare journey.
Applicants must be currently enrolled in their senior year of an accredited nursing program or have graduated and be pending a temporary graduate nurse permit, holding a current BLS for healthcare providers. Minimum education requires a high school diploma or GED and enrollment in technical or vocational nursing training.

The nurse extern is currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing program and has entered their senior year of nursing school or has graduated from an accredited school of nursing program and is pending the board issued temporary graduate nurse permit. The nurse extern is a member of the patient care services team with primary responsibilities for technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. The nurse extern is assigned to work under the supervision of a registered nurse who delegates tasks based upon patient needs and nurse extern skills and abilities.
