Peer Support Specialists engage members to facilitate meaningful conversations assisting them in exploring and meeting their own recovery goals. They also provide consultation to the team to reinforce the Recovery Culture and respond to critical situations using high-level engagement and de-escalation skills.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and must complete Peer Support Training or become a Certified Peer Specialist within one year of hire. A valid driver's license, personal vehicle insurance, and willingness to drive clients are also mandatory requirements.

Peer Support Specialists engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with members served that assist the person to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Support Specialists provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS), in which each member’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Support Specialists respond to critical situations with high level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for individuals experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.

Expected starting wage range is $15.50 - $20.32. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

Lagos Crisis Residential Facility provides a peer-to-peer, community-based, recovery-oriented alternative to hospitalization. The 16-bed program offers short-stay residential services to adults ages 18-59 who have severe and persistent mental health issues and need an intensive level of support but do not require treatment in a locked program. Assessments, individual and group therapy, and person-centered counseling and training are provided in a supportive, home-like environment to assist clients in living successfully in community.
