Job Description: Summary:

Provides assistance to the surgical staff and physicians during dental surgical procedures, ensuring availability and proper handling of the instruments, supplies, and equipment.

Job Description

Essential Functions

Prepares dental instruments for sterilization.

Assists the dentist during surgery by passing instruments and materials.

Coordinates and performs the requisitioning of instruments, supplies, and equipment for dental surgical cases.

Maintains a clean and organized surgical environment.

Documents patient care and maintains accurate records.

Orders and maintains inventory of surgical supplies and equipment.

Education Requirement

Graduate from an approved dental assistant program or equivalent experience, required.

Licensure Requirement

Radiographer license, required.

Certifications

Dental Assistant Certification, preferred.

Skills

  • Demonstrates manual dexterity.
  • Demonstrates versatility and adaptability.
  • Demonstrates a theoretical and clinical ability to conform to standards of asepsis and infection control.
  • Possess ability to hear and respond appropriately to surgeon and co-worker requests.
  • Demonstrated and documented competency in the scrub role

Experience

  • One year of Dental Assistant experience, required.
  • Operating or delivery room experience, preferred.
