The Laboratory Assistant II supports laboratory scientists, technologists, or technicians by handling pre- and post-analytic tasks within testing departments. This role includes preparing samples for shipment to external reference laboratories and performing Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA)-waived testing.
Candidates must possess an Associate's Degree in Science or a related health science field, along with two years of relevant laboratory experience, though advanced education may substitute for experience. Essential soft skills include excellent communication and a high degree of accuracy in task completion.
The Laboratory Assistant II is responsible for aiding the laboratory scientist, technologist or technician with pre- and post-analytic duties in the testing departments. The Laboratory Assistant II is responsible for preparing samples for transport to the appropriate reference laboratory and completing Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA)-waived testing.
