The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for obtaining or receiving specimens, performing standardized clinical laboratory tests, understanding method principles, and executing quality control and preventive maintenance. This role requires accurately interpreting results within critical limits and independently organizing work to meet deadlines while validating all obtained data.
Candidates need a Bachelor's Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science or another field plus completion of a Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science program, or MT-HEW certification in lieu of a degree. Eligibility for ASCP or CAP accreditation is required, along with maintaining all necessary competencies and training.
