The RN serves as a central communication source for patient transfers and consultations, managing direct ED/Inpatient admissions and Critical Care Transport processes. This role involves facilitating communication between specialty providers, medical control, transport teams, and patient placement, while acting as a resource for community and hospital-based providers.
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an RN or 3 years of Transport experience as an RCP, demonstrating strong communication and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment. Required education is an Associate's Degree of Nursing or Respiratory Care, along with current BLS certification.
Ability to work independently, utilize time management, prioritization and multi-tasking skills needed in a fast paced department. Knowledge of a variety of pediatric healthcare specialties, including level of care, symptom identification critical thinking and decision making to appropriately triage and manage consult and transport requests. Basic knowledge of a computer including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, web browsing, document access and electronic health record.
