A Medical Assistant functions as an unlicensed person supporting a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner within a medical practice. This role involves providing primary nursing support to both the physician and the patient to aid in diagnosing and treating the patient's condition.
Candidates must work under the supervision of a licensed practitioner and assist in patient care related to diagnosis and treatment. Completion of a Medical Assistant program and/or successful completion of a Medical Assistant Certification Exam, along with CPR Certification, are preferred.
A Medical Assistant works as an unlicensed person who assists in the medical practice under the supervision of a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner; provides primary nursing support to the physician and patient to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient’s condition. Proof of completion of Medical Assistant program and/or successful completion of a Medical Assistant Certification Exam preferred.
