About the role

The Adult Hematologist will provide comprehensive care across the spectrum of benign hematologic disorders, including hemostasis, thrombosis, and anemia, while participating in and expanding specialized programs like bleeding disorders and women's health. This role involves collaborating within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to clinical program development, and engaging in shared call responsibilities including nights and weekends.

Innovative Hematology, Inc. (IHI) is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Adult Hematologist with expertise in Classical (Non-Malignant) Hematology to join our nationally recognized comprehensive care team. This is a unique opportunity to practice at one of the nation’s leading centers for benign hematology while contributing to clinical innovation, program development, and academic advancement.

As a certified patient-centered medical home, IHI is nationally recognized for delivering coordinated, high-quality care through integrated clinical programs.

IHI is home to Indiana Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center (IHTC), a 501(c)(3) organization and one of the largest federally recognized hemophilia treatment centers in the United States.

In addition, IHI serves as a major regional referral center for a wide range of classical hematology conditions, including: Bleeding and clotting disorders (hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, rare factor deficiencies, thrombophilia) Thrombosis and vascular medicine Red cell disorders and complex anemias (iron deficiency, hemolytic anemias, inherited disorders) Sickle cell disease and hemoglobinopathies (comprehensive lifespan program) Platelet disorders and bone marrow failure syndromes Women’s health and hematology (including heavy menstrual bleeding and reproductive hematology) Cardiovascular risk and hematology interface programs Emerging therapeutics programs, including gene therapy and novel agents Our programs are supported by a highly integrated, multidisciplinary team that includes hematologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurses, physical therapists, social workers, behavioral health specialists, and genetic counselors.

IHI is also recognized as a Center of Excellence for HHT, and for clinical care, research, education, and innovation in rare hematologic diseases.

Position Overview The Adult Hematologist – Classical Hematology will: Provide comprehensive care across the spectrum of benign hematologic disorders, including hemostasis, thrombosis, anemia, and complex multisystem conditions Participate in and help expand specialized programs within classical hematology, including bleeding disorders, thrombosis, red cell disorders, and women’s health Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of more than 20 physicians and more than 20 advanced practice providers Contribute to clinical program development, quality improvement initiatives, and care model innovation Participate in shared call responsibilities, including nights and weekends Engage in inpatient consultation services through established hospital partnerships Academic & Research Opportunities This position offers a strong academic component for candidates interested in: Clinical research and participation in multicenter trials Programmatic innovation and outcomes-based research Medical education, including teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows Development of novel care models and dissemination through publications and presentations Faculty appointments and academic affiliations are available and encouraged.
