The role involves expertly providing anesthesia services as delineated by the collaborative practice agreement for the patient/family to promote optimal patient outcomes. Anesthetists also serve as paid preceptors to rotating anesthesia students and have opportunities to serve on department and hospital-wide committees.
Candidates must have graduated from a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and must be Certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) upon hire. Required licensure includes a Missouri RN license upon hire, and either a Kansas RN license or a Compact license for states besides KS and MO.
