The Nuclear Medicine Technologist reviews patient history and physician's orders, educates patients about procedures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals. They also monitor patient conditions, perform imaging procedures, and analyze imaging results.
MaineGeneral Health is presently seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. This is a great opportunity to work as part of a small, committed group of professionals that puts an emphasis on collaboration and teamwork.
Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation
Orders, prepares, administers, stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals and or medications according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary
Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results

The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials. Candidates must have a current State of Maine License for Radiological Technology/Nuclear Medicine and certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are also required.
