The Dental Hygienist administers oral prophylaxes for new and continuing patients and is responsible for periapical x-rays. They also perform scheduling and work assignments based on patient flow needs in the absence of the supervisor or director.
A high school diploma or GED and completion of a Dental Hygienist program are required. NYS Licensure for Dental Hygienist is mandatory, and prior experience in a dental setting is preferred.

Under supervision of the Dentist, the Dental Hygienist administers oral prophylaxes of all new patients and service semiannually on continuing patients. The hygienist is responsible for periapical x-rays on these patients. In the absence of the supervisor or director, performs scheduling and work assignments based upon patient flow needs. Ability to provide rotating weekend coverage based on operational need a MUST Responsibilities Complete Oral Prophylaxes on patients Complete periapical x-rays as needed Documentation of the oral examination in the patients electronic dental record Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment Education to patients and families Work with front desk staff on scheduling Qualifications/ Skills High school diploma/ GED required Completion of a Dental Hygienist program required NYS Licensure for Dental Hygienist Prior experience as a Dental Hygienist in a dental setting preferred Montefiore Medical Center is an equal employment opportunity employer.
