About the role

The Telemetry Technician monitors patient heart rhythm patterns using telemetry equipment to detect abnormal variances, observing cardiac monitors and responding to alarms. They inform the Registered Nurse of any variances and are responsible for measuring and posting heart rhythm pattern data on patient records.

Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances. Observes the screen of the cardiac monitor and listens for the alarm to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm. Informs the Registered Nurse of variances to initiate examination of the patient.   • EKG Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited provider.
