Optometrists will provide primary eye care, which extends beyond prescribing contacts and eyeglasses, by managing ocular disease to their comfort level. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating various ocular conditions such as corneal ulcers, uveitis, red eye, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma.
Candidates must possess a Doctor of Optometry (OD) Degree from an Accredited School of Optometry. Applicants must also be state-licensed or eligible for licensure to practice Optometry in the state where they will be practicing.
