The Orthopaedic Technician provides clinical support in an outpatient orthopaedic setting, involving tasks such as applying various orthopaedic devices, assisting with minor procedures, and performing wound care. Essential duties also include patient education, managing inventory of casting materials and supplies, and ensuring exam rooms are prepared using sterile techniques.
Candidates must possess a High School graduation or equivalent education, with no specific licensure required, but 1-3 years of related experience, preferably in an outpatient Orthopaedic clinic, is necessary. The role demands manual dexterity and the ability to frequently walk, bend, twist, and occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
Orthopaedic Technician I provides clinical support in the outpatient orthopaedic setting with responsibilities ranging from applying orthopaedic devices to assisting with minor procedures and wound care. This role involves moderate clinical autonomy, patient education, inventory coordination. The Orthopaedic Technician 1 must demonstrate competency in orthopaedic care delivery, sterile techniques, and patient support.
