The primary duties involve assisting physicians and nurses by managing clinic patient flow, informing providers of patient arrivals and room assignments, and accompanying patients professionally in the exam room. Responsibilities also include obtaining vital signs, assisting during examinations, and potentially administering medications after demonstrating competency.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and graduation from a Medical Assistant school, along with current certification and registration as a Medical Assistant and current basic CPR/AED certification. The role requires frequent walking, bending, twisting, reaching, and the ability to lift or carry up to 20 lbs occasionally.
