The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures and operating MRI equipment while ensuring strict safety protocols. They must maintain accurate quality control logs and provide excellent care to patients throughout the facility.
Candidates must have a high school diploma, graduate from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology school, and hold ARRT(MR) and MRT General licenses. Two to five years of specific MRI experience and current BLS certification are required.

· Performs quality diagnostic procedures accurately and in a timely manner for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth Outpatient Center.
· Operates MRI equipment, prepares exam room, equipment, supplies and medications.
· Provides excellent patient care.
· Practices proper MRI safety techniques with all patients, visitors, and employees.
Education: · High School diploma or equivalent
· Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology
Licensure/Certification: · Current & Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(MR) Certificate
· Current & Active Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) General License
· Current BLS certification
Specific Job Experience: · Two to five years’ experience specific to MRI
Duties: and Responsibilities:
· The MRI technologist operates MRI equipment, prepares exam room, equipment, supplies and medications.
· Provides excellent patient care throughout the facility.
· Practices proper MRI safety techniques with all patients, visitors, and employees.
· Performs all Quality control checks, as prescribed.
· Maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc.

· Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures
· Investigates promptly and follows up on unusual incidents and communicates with Radiology Leadership
· Takes emergency call as assigned
· Demonstrates ability to communicate with radiologists to establish requirements of nonstandard examinations and determine appropriate technical factors.
· Demonstrates responsibility for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of projectiles, electric shock, and burns to patients.
· Thoroughly screens all patients and visitors entering into Zone 3.
· Monitors equipment and patient during the exam to assess any changes to the patient’s condition.
· Demonstrates ability to assess data, prioritize care, and plan interventions dependent on the age group of the population served.
· Demonstrates ability to discuss treatment/service and to provide education information to patients/families in age group served
· Ability to utilize Electronic Healthcare Record for patient documentation.
