The Registered Nurse will safely coordinate outpatient clinic patient care and education using the nursing process, which includes documentation, chart maintenance, and assisting with accurate data entry into the computer system. For Oncology positions, responsibilities include continuity of care, consultation, and education for patients receiving treatment in collaboration with oncologists and other staff.
Under general supervision of the Clinic Administrator and Office Manager, uses the nursing process to safely coordinate outpatient clinic patient care and education.
Workload will be determined by the clinic’s appointment schedule, clinic staffing levels, and the needs and priorities of the outpatient clinics.
Must be willing to be reassigned within clinic or willing to float to another clinic.
Assignment to another clinic is possible and is established by the daily review of overall appointment schedules and staffing needs.
The Clinic RN will be assigned up to 40 hours per week according to the needs of the clinic and staff.
Some weekend work may be required.
The Clinic RN is expected to function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the clinic and organization.

Works collaboratively with the radiation oncologist, medical oncologist, referring physicians and other staff members associated with the Mississippi Cancer Institute.
