Provide individualized physical, mental, and psychosocial care to hospice patients, including assistance with personal hygiene and mobility. Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and maintain skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers.
Requires a high school diploma, CNA certification approved by the Connecticut Department of Public Health, and at least two years of CNA experience. At least one year of specific hospice nursing assistant experience is required.
High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree desired. CNA training required with documentation of successful completion of training and competency evaluation, leading to certification. The Program must be approved by the Connecticut Department of Public Health Minimum of two years experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant and at least one year experience as a hospice nursing assistant required. Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing Assistant (CHPNA) preferred, or desire to obtain within first two years of employment recommended.
