The Polysomnographic Technologist II performs comprehensive sleep testing, analysis, and associated interventions under general supervision. This role also involves providing supervision to a Polysomnographic Trainee and a Polysomnographic Technologist I.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of an accredited polysomnography program or transition from Technologist I with credentialing, and current CPR certification (BLS for Health Care Providers). An associate’s degree in an allied healthcare field is preferred.
The Polysomnographic Technologist II works collectively with the Medical Director, Leader, staff and patients to achieve optimal efficiency and success in sleep disorder function testing and scoring. Performs comprehensive sleep testing / analysis and associated interventions under the general supervision of the Leader, Medical Director, or designee and provides supervision of a Polysomnographic Trainee and Polysomnographic Technologist I. A Polysomnographic Technologist II is credentialed in sleep technology.
Education: An associate’s degree in an allied healthcare field (respiratory care or neuro-diagnostics). Second credential may include one of the following: BRPT (Certification in Clinical Sleep Health) CCSH NBRC (Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT (American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists) ABRET (Registered Encephalography Technologist) R.
