Develop and implement personalized life enrichment programs to improve the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of residents with dementia and Alzheimer's. Coordinate community-wide activities and maintain communication with families and staff through newsletters and digital platforms.
Requires a high school diploma and proficiency in Microsoft Office, along with a commitment to the organization's Christian faith and values. Preferred candidates have an associate degree and experience in memory care, senior leadership, or faith-based service models.
The Life Enrichment Coordinator-Memory Care will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for Senior Living residents by delivering innovative, personalized and purpose driven programs and providing engaging experiences that nurture connection and wellbeing. Provide an ongoing program of Life Enrichment activities designed to meet the resident’s interests and to help them attain and maintain their highest level of physical, mental, psychosocial and spiritual well-being. Serve as the primary facilitator to enlist the participation of residents, families and staff in ongoing, meaningful activities that provide joy and purpose to the lives of our residents. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (General overview and may include all details of responsibilities) Resident Engagement Support: Lead daily group and one-on-one Life Enrichment activities, adapting as needed based on resident mood and cognition. Use Life Enrichment programs to create personalized activities based on each resident’s needs and preferences. Support each resident’s physical, cognitive, emotional and mental wellbeing through engaging, purposeful Life Enrichment activities. Memory Care Focus: Lead enriching, meaningful daily programs designed for residents with dementia and Alzheimer's, fostering engagement through emotional well-being specialized activities (I.E.: self-movement, art, sensory stimulation, reminiscence, and cognitive games). Implement Life Enrichment activities to support the unique physical and cognitive abilities of residents with memory loss, ensuring each person feels recognized, included, and valued. Collaborate with care staff to align memory care programs with residents’ needs. Family and Hospitality: Serve as a welcoming and compassionate point of contact for family members, guests and volunteers. Promote connection, comfort and trust by building relationships with residents, families, and team members. Coordinate family visits, support groups, scenic drives and seasonal celebrations. Send timely communication using Carefeed and other platforms to foster connection and transparency. Administrative Management: Create and distribute monthly newsletters and activity calendars for Crista Courtyard and Garden Residents across Independent and Assisted Living. Proofread and coordinate all weekly calendars to ensure consistency and accuracy. Lead and implement community-wide programs, including spiritual, cultural, physical and creative life enrichment activities. Maintain up-to-date reservations for activity spaces using Microsoft Outlook. Other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS CHRIST CENTERED Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. Is a committed Christian who is dedicated to continued spiritual growth and development as evidenced through a growing personal walk with God (e.g. daily spiritual rhythms of prayer, fellowship, Bible study, etc.). Prayerfully seeks God’s will in their own lives and in their ministry at CRISTA. Engages our ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer, participation in spiritual practices, leading devotionals and other spiritual practices. Affirms, aligns with and supports CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC). Conducts themselves in a manner which reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC). Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader. EDUCATION High School Diploma. SOFTWARE / EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher). OTHER CONSIDERATIONS Ability to work effectively with others, displaying excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to work on your feet all day. Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills. Must be able to work some weekends as this will be required for program support, special events and family engagement. If future program needs require direct care involvement, Home Care Aide Certification will be required.
EDUCATION Associate degree. EXPERIENCE Previous supervisory or leadership experience in memory care or classroom setting. Experience working with Seniors and Dementia. Experience coordinating volunteers or intergenerational programs. Background in faith-based or nonprofit service models. Technical training, including onboarding, instruction or skill building with peers and volunteers. Experience teaching or leading group fitness, dance, yoga, chair-based movement or other body-based programming in a senior or memory care setting. LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION CPR Food Handler’s Dementia and Mental Health Certification training OTHER CONSIDERATIONS Familiarity with Carefeed or other family communication platforms. Calendar and planning management. Familiarity with state survey documentation, family care planning and life enrichment documentation systems.
