Performs patient procedures including phlebotomy and specimen collection while ensuring sample integrity and accurate identification. Manages laboratory clerical duties, processes specimens for distribution, and interacts professionally with healthcare staff and patients.
High school diploma or GED is preferred, along with a preference for one year of healthcare or laboratory assistant experience. Candidates must possess basic phlebotomy knowledge, computer proficiency, and the ability to handle physical demands up to 50 pounds.
Job Requirements Education High School diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. (High School diploma or equivalent required for CAP surveyors only). Experience One year of health care related experience preferred. One year medical or laboratory assistant experience preferred. License/Certifications N/A Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Ability to type 35 wpm, Ability to completed 10 key Knowledge of computers. Able to organize and priorities work demands and handle multiple tasks. Knowledge of basic phlebotomy, specimen collection, selection, handling and storage activities. Must exhibit good customer service skills Able to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
