The Certified Medical Assistant supports the health and wellness center's clinical and clerical operations by assisting the provider with tests and procedures, including measuring vital signs and performing clinical tasks like injections and EKGs. Additionally, the role involves administrative duties such as managing the front desk, scheduling, maintaining records, and ordering medical supplies.
Candidates must possess an active Medical Assistant Certification (RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, or NCRMA) or obtain one within six months if they graduated from an accredited program and have twelve months of direct clinical patient care experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, current BLS certification is necessary, and proficiency with EMRs and general office software is expected.
The mission of the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is to support the health and wellness center’s clinical and clerical operations. As directed by the provider and Clinical Operations Manager, the MA assists the provider and performs appropriate tests and procedures. The CMA is responsible for administrative tasks for the health and wellness center and may assist the Patient Advocate in employee/patient engagement and outreach.
