The assistant will be the first point of contact, welcoming patients, guiding them to care, and supporting the team during triage and treatment processes. Key duties include assisting with nursing care, diagnostics like bloodwork and imaging, and setting up/monitoring anesthesia and IV fluid administration.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and enrollment in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is a plus, along with at least one year of experience as a veterinary assistant, preferably in emergency or specialty settings. Candidates must possess basic computer skills, excellent communication abilities, fine motor skills, and the physical capacity to handle patients and work long hours, including nights and weekends.
