The Respiratory Therapist assesses, treats, and cares for patients with breathing disorders by initiating and conducting therapeutic procedures, maintaining patient records, and operating necessary equipment. Essential functions include demonstrating competency in respiratory therapeutics, using non-invasive ventilators, and performing pulmonary diagnostics.
Candidates must possess an Associate of Science in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences and maintain licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the State of Florida Department of Health, along with current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification. Advanced clinical skills related to the RRT Clinical Ladder program are also expected.
