Job Description

Eastern Connecticut Hematology and Oncology Associates is committed to the care and improvement of human life. In recognition of this commitment, we strive to provide high-quality healthcare in the communities we serve.

We are seeking a full-time Oncology Nurses for Eastern CT Hematology and Oncology located in Norwich, CT.

Responsibilities

include:

Clearly and accurately documents pertinent information in the patient's medical record. Consistently demonstrates effective documentation practices and develops strategies to ensure complete documentation of patient care

Completes timely and ongoing patient assessments and responses to treatments serving as a key participant on the treatment team

Works closely with APRNs and Doctors to ensure appropriate and prescribed treatment plans are followed

Oversee triage responsibilities when scheduled

Deliver teaches to patients on a variety of different subject matters and medication procedures

Administer chemotherapy administration as well as immunotherapy, intravenous gamma globulin, iron infusions and growth factor support

Ideal candidates have

  • Current RN license through the state of CT
  • Previous experience accessing ports and placing IV lines
  • Previous experience in Oncology and working with an oncology EMR preferred
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required
  • Ability to stand for the duration of shift and move quickly throughout the infusion center

Requirements

Candidates must have a current RN license in Connecticut and previous experience in oncology, including accessing ports and placing IV lines. An Associate's Degree in Nursing is required, along with the ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
