The Therapist IV provides ongoing individual and group counseling to clients and completes necessary documentation reflecting clinical necessity. They also collaborate with other staff and treatment providers to assess and treat individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues.
Requirements summary
Candidates must have a Master's degree and be licensed in the state of Oklahoma. They should demonstrate competencies in specific theoretical orientations and possess excellent communication skills.
SUMMARY In accordance with the agency mission statement, the Therapist IV provides ongoing individual and group counseling to assigned population.
The Therapist IV completes documentation requirements reflecting clinical necessity which meets program and agency standards.
Therapists interact regularly with other staff, including the Health Team, and treatment providers to assess and treat individuals with mental, emotional, or substance abuse problems, including abuse of alcohol tobacco, and/or other drugs.
Activities may include individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, treatment planning, psycho-social assessments, client advocacy, prevention and education.
Demonstrates competencies in a specialty approach in specific theoretical orientation, i.e., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, etc.
Completes required process for commercial insurance participation.
May represent Red Rock and attend meetings with various partner agencies.
Completes complex tasks at supervisor request.
Provides consultation, training and or supervision to other staff as assigned.
Essential functions and responsibilities
Completes intakes, develops treatment plans, determines clinical diagnosis and refers clients to appropriate resources internally or externally
Prepares, plans, facilitates, and implements direct care of consumers through groups and individual therapy
Participates in treatment team meetings providing information pertinent to welfare of consumer for supervision
Provides crisis assistance and consults with various third parties as deemed appropriate
Completes all documentation in a timely manner
Serves as a primary liaison to health part of core team and coordinates between all Health Team members as necessary
Coordinates input from all team members into the comprehensive treatment plan
Supervises students and other clinical support staff when required for attainment of programmatic goals
May provide training of specialized nature when required
Assists in the development and implementation of programmatic goals and objectives

Maintains compliance with Medicaid, Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS), Commission on Accreditation Rehabilitation facilities (CARF), and any other funding/contract source
Possesses experience working from specific theoretical orientation, i.e., CBT, Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, etc
Credentials or able to credential with private insurance panels and assists with the process in a timely manner
Utilizes and demonstrates competency (or gaining competency) in assigned Career Path
Represents Red Rock and attends meeting with various partner agencies
Completes complex tasks at supervisor request
Provide supervision to other staff as needed
Demonstrates excellent skills and competencies in handling critical or complex clinical situations, seeking supervisor as appropriate
Demonstrates a specialty approach in an approach, i.e., CBT, Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, etc
Provides clinical training as assigned
Performs duties and makes clinical decisions with minimal supervision
Serves as a resource to other staff for consultation, problem solving and assistance
Builds rapport and working partnerships with relevant local, state, and federal government agencies
Promotes community education projects to help increase awareness of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) & Acute Mental Health Crises
Works on an emergency hotline
Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
Master’s degree – Licensed in state of Oklahoma (LPC, LMFT, LBP, LCSW, LADC)
Bilingual preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrates a specialty approach in a specific theoretical orientation, i.e., CBT, Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, etc
Possesses training and understanding of how to frame initial assessment and initial plan development in a way that adequately identifies client needs and the treatment objectives that can best be addressed in the Health Team program
Proficient in the use of technology to perform duties
With Red Rock three years or licensed four years externally.
