The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the assessment and management of patients across various clinical settings. They work independently and in conjunction with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree and have 2-3 years of experience. Licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider in Virginia is required, along with current BLS and other relevant certifications.
Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Current or eligible Virginia Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licensure. DEA registration and prescriptive authority eligibility. Minimum of 2–3 years of psychiatric practice experience preferred, with experience treating pediatric and adolescent populations strongly preferred. Ability to practice independently and manage an outpatient behavioral health patient panel.
