The Peri-Anesthesia Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. They provide continuous patient surveillance and ensure timely administration of physician’s orders.
Candidates must have a graduation certificate from an accredited nursing school and a current nursing license in Mississippi. Certifications in ACLS, PALS, and BLS are required, along with experience in peri-anesthesia or critical care preferred.
The Peri-Anesthesia Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care of patients undergoing surgical intervention, pain injections, and diagnostic procedures. The Peri-Anesthesia RN provides assessment, patient surveillance and timely administration of physician’s orders to prepare patients for procedures. The Peri-Anesthesia RN provides continuous patient surveillance for early recognition and immediate emergency treatment of any medical or surgical complication that may arise. The Peri-Anesthesia RN determines that the patient is suitable for discharge; and provides patients and family members with an additional opportunity for education and review of the post op instructions. The Peri-Anesthesia RN also calls the patient on the first working post op day to check on post op progress. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: A graduation certificate from an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program, required Current MS state licensure, required ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications, required Experience in peri-anesthesia or critical care area, preferred Certificate of course completion in Moderate Sedation, required
