Jude is seeking outstanding candidates for postdoctoral fellowship positions in pediatric classical hematology.
Research areas of interest include hematopoiesis, hemostasis/thrombosis, and non-malignant blood diseases, such as sickle cell disease, bone marrow failure syndromes, and myeloproliferative disorders.
This premier NHLBI-sponsored T32 training program leverages the exceptional research infrastructure at St.
Jude to train top-tier postdoctoral fellows with the necessary skills to lead independent research programs in laboratory-based classical hematology.
Postdoctoral mentors associated with the program represent seven basic science and clinical departments across the institution. These faculty are leaders in their respective fields with expertise in basic and translational research in pediatric classical hematology, with special emphasis on genomics, gene regulation, and cutting-edge experimental model systems and approaches to mechanistic cell and molecular biology. Trainees will greatly benefit from the interdisciplinary approach and collaborative nature of participating faculty, and collaboration between mentors is encouraged to provide a cross-disciplinary approach to the training program.
St. Jude offers highly competitive stipends and robust support for its trainees. This program aims to address the critical shortage of biomedical trainees focused on classical hematology by equipping them with the excitement, knowledge, and skills to make new biological discoveries and use modern tools for genetic and pharmacological manipulation to develop new therapies.
Eligibility
Applicants should be prospective postdocs or in the early stages of postdoctoral training (within 1–2 years of PhD conferral).
Applicants must hold a PhD, MD, DO, PharmD, DVM, or equivalent degree in a relevant field at the time of appointment.
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Noncitizen Nationals, or Permanent Residents at the time of appointment.
Strong communication skills, a solid publication record, and a demonstrated commitment to research are required.
