Requirements summary
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for secondary education in a veterinary program. Experience handling cats and dogs is required, along with the ability to communicate effectively and perform physical tasks.
Assist veterinarian in providing exceptional veterinary care to every pet that enters the hospital, including patient restraint, diagnostic testing, venipuncture, vaccinations, treatment of various medical conditions, surgery, anesthesia monitoring, dental procedures, client interaction, and other nursing duties as needed. Must also deliver compassionate nursing care. Will perform various office duties including answering phones, appointment scheduling, updating patient medical records, patient referral forms, etc.

Maintain patient records
Safely and effectively handle animals in any situation
Assist in securing the facility and safety of guest, staff and animals
Basic office duties as needed
Check in/Check out processes
Maintain hospital cleanliness
Be open to continued education opportunities
Actively participate in monthly staff meetings, teambuilding activities, and one on one connections with direct supervisor

Qualifications
Current Pennsylvania Veterinary Technician Certification or able to transfer current out-of-state Veterinary Technician Certification to State of Pennsylvania strongly preferred
Must have achieved their high school diploma or equivalent
Secondary education preferred in veterinary assistant or veterinary technician program
Must have experience handling cats and dogs
Must be able to type and use basic office equipment, such as scanner, copier, fax machine
Ability to think and act quickly in a fast paced environment
Competent to communicate effectively with guests and staff
Must have the physical strength to stand for an entire shift when needed
Be able to lift pets and objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
Assist with lifting patients that weigh more than 50 pounds
