The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct clinical support by rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and assisting providers with procedures and point-of-care testing. They also manage care coordination tasks, including triaging patient calls, facilitating referrals, and maintaining accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record.
Candidates must hold a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential and have graduated from an accredited ABHES or CAAHEP program. A high school diploma and American Heart Association BLS certification are also required.
