About the role

The provider is responsible for patient evaluation, history and physical examinations, and the delivery of appropriate treatment for adult and geriatric psychiatric patients. They work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to provide nursing care and health teaching in an observation setting.

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Physician Assistant- Adult Psychiatry

  • The Nurse Practitioner is an independent health care provider who, working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary health team, is responsible for patient evaluation and care through the performance of pertinent history and physical examination, assessment of needs and delivery of appropriate treatment. Provides nursing care and health teaching to an assigned group of adult and geriatric patients in an observation setting. All duties and responsibilities are accomplished according to the collaborative practice agreement required by the State of Florida.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in nursing, MS in nursing is required
  • Licensed by the State of Florida
  • Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice
  • Extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute chronic patient problems

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a required MS in nursing and hold a valid license from the State of Florida. Extensive knowledge of physical assessment, pharmacology, and the management of acute chronic patient problems is required.
