This role involves providing direct support to dentists, hygienists, and denturists by performing all duties permitted a dental assistant under state regulations, including preparing patients, assisting in procedures, and maintaining records. Key tasks include taking radiographs, sterilizing instruments, training patients in oral hygiene, and anticipating provider needs during care delivery.
Candidates need a minimum of one year of experience as a dental assistant or graduation from an ADA accredited program, along with a High School Diploma or GED. Required certifications include Oregon Dental Radiation Proficiency, Pit and Fissure Sealant, Expanded Function Dental Assistant, and Basic Life Support within specified timeframes after hire.
Provide direct support to dentists, hygienists, denturists and other provider personnel in the delivery of dental care and service within a Kaiser Permanente dental office.
Basic knowledge of sterilization and infection control equipment.
This is a backfill role to cover core employees for pre-scheduled, next-day & same-day support. By geographic area - East & Central Portland Metro. Replacement Pool, eligible for differential. ON-CALL. Employees must meet minimum contractual availability & Employer work requirements. (CBA 10.10).
