Description Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary

A Registered Nurse plays a key role in delivering exceptional resident care by providing clinical oversight, supervising staff, and ensuring treatments and care plans are carried out safely and effectively. This role is responsible for administering medications, monitoring resident conditions, collaborating with physicians, and maintaining strong communication with residents and their families. All care is provided in compliance with current federal and state regulations, as well as Mount Ascension Transitional Care of Cascadia policies and standards.

What You’ll Do As an RN, you’ll deliver high-quality, resident-centered care while ensuring accurate and timely clinical documentation. You’ll complete nursing assessments, progress notes, orders, flow sheets, and consents, making sure documentation reflects the care provided and services required. You’ll communicate regularly with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support effective care planning and outcomes.

You’ll play an active role in medication management by preparing, administering, and documenting medications as ordered, monitoring resident responses, identifying adverse reactions, maintaining narcotic records, and coordinating pharmaceutical needs. You’ll also initiate enteral or parenteral therapies as ordered and ensure compliance with medication safety protocols. In addition, you’ll respond quickly to changes in resident condition, assist with or lead emergency interventions, and administer CPR when necessary. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential to supporting safe and consistent care delivery.

Additional Responsibilities You’ll ensure compliance with all clinical policies, procedures, and professional standards, including those outlined in the Nurse Practice Act. You’ll apply sound nursing judgment in all situations and complete additional duties as assigned to support the care team and facility operations.

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical knowledge, sound judgment, and a commitment to resident rights and confidentiality. You’ll have a solid understanding of HIPAA regulations, along with excellent communication, teamwork, organizational, and customer service skills. A positive, enthusiastic attitude and a collaborative approach to care are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

Education Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing. BSN preferred.

Licenses/Certification Current RN Licensure in the State employed. Valid CPR Certification.

Experience Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
