Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, Indiana's first community mental health center, provides comprehensive care for emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness and substance abuse. The Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including several outreach centers as well as clinic- and community-based services.

FLSA Status Non-ExemptJob Role Summary The Clinician performs a variety of individual, family and group therapeutic interventions utilizing evidence-based practices. This position manages a caseload of clients identifying therapeutic, rehabilitative and case management needs, engaging other team members in meeting these needs as indicated.Essential Functions and Responsibilities Embraces, understands, and operates under the Recovery Model, including AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) and the spirit of motivational interviewing (MI), and follows the levels of accountabilityCompletes biopsychosocial evaluation (BPSE), integrating information gathered by the team and developing the integrated diagnostic summary; based upon the BPSE and in consultation with the treatment team, prepares Clinical Treatment plans, dates the treatment plan at intervals determined by guidelines, and consults with client, family, and treatment team throughout the processManages a caseload of clients identifying therapeutic, rehabilitative and case management needs; engages other team members in meeting these needs as indicatedPerforms a variety of individual, family and group therapeutic interventions (as demonstrated competency allows) utilizing evidence-based practicesProvides quality case management services as indicated by client need Monitors client progress and reflects this in the clinical documentationEvaluates and updates the treatment plan at intervals determined by guidelines, consulting with client family and team in this processCompletes documentation of activities and written reports in an accurate and timely mannerIdentifies community resources and assists clients in their access to these resourcesProvides indirect service to external agencies and community through consultation and educationInterprets and applies service and billing procedures according to client needs; completes billing according to guidelines for timeliness and accuracy Alters activities and behaviors to reflect and ensure adequate care which is appropriate to the age of the clients servedAdvocates for clients to ensure access to needed services which include developing community relationships and resourcesMeets agency standards of timely completion of all documentationMeets agency standards of client service hoursDemonstrates commitment to professional growth by actively participating in clinical supervisionJob Requirements Master's degree in Human Services fieldCandidates with a Master's of Social Work must have Licensed Social Work (LSW) and be working towards Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW)Candidates must have submitted a plan to obtain licensure at the soonest date possible within a maximum allowed of three yearsValid Indiana driver's license that meets Eskenazi Health's driving policy requirementsAll individuals working for the Opioid Treatment Program must have one of the following FSSA/DMHA-approved credentials for Clinicians providing counseling with an OTP:Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT)Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)Certified Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC) IICertified Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC) IVIndiana Certified Addiction Counselor (ICAC) IIndiana Certified Addiction Counselor (ICAC) IILicensed Social Worker (LSW) with Medication Assisted Treatment Specialist (MATS)Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC)Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC)Master Addiction Counselor (MAC)National Certified Addiction Counselor (NCAC) IKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Understanding of and ability to implement a strengths-based, community treatment modelStrong interpersonal skills with ability to be both clear and concise in written and verbal communicationsDemonstrates solid knowledge of psychiatric/addiction diagnoses and understanding of their impact on behavior and all life domainsDemonstrates solid knowledge of psychotropic medications and their uses and side effectsWillingness and ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary teamAbility to use age-appropriate communication skillsAbility to interpret and apply complex directives, information, and regulations Crisis intervention skillsAll individuals working for the Opioid Treatment Program must have experience and training to safely manage therapeutic services to patients and to provide therapeutic services to patients receiving Opioid treatment medicationMust Meet the Following Basic Competencies if Applicable:Mental Status ExamMedicationsDSM IVLegalCPIFunctional Assessment (HAP)CPRAnnual EducationAddictionsCANS (Staff Working with Children); ANSA (Staff Working with Adults)Revenue Cycle Sessions 1 & 2

Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center's primary mission is to serve individuals with serious mental illness and chronic addiction as well as seriously emotionally disturbed children and their families. Patients of all ages are welcomed, from children to seniors, with a philosophy of care that stresses strength-based and family- and community-centered treatment utilizing the Recovery Model of treatment.
