The Behavioral Health Specialist provides short-term counseling and integrated mental health support to patients within an ambulatory clinic setting. They coordinate care with a multi-disciplinary team, perform screenings, and facilitate referrals to community resources.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field and possess an active LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT license in Montana. A BLS certification is required, and 3-5 years of healthcare experience is preferred.
The Behavioral Health Specialist develops and maintains a comprehensive program of services for behavioral health care needs for patients and their families across the clinic setting. This role serves as the mental health professional member of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team to improve the screening and management of social, emotional, and behavioral concerns and interrelated medical conditions for patients across the ambulatory care system. Receives referrals for individuals of all age groups from interdisciplinary team members and develops and supports prevention and promotion strategies for behavioral health care as part of whole person care. The Behavioral Health Specialist follows an integrated care model within the ambulatory clinics to provide short-term counseling services to patients seeking mental health support and to assist patients with referrals to appropriate services in the community.
Master Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field Licensed as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Montana American Heart Association BLS Preferred: 3-5 years of experience in the health care field.

The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs. Exposures (Continuously): Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed. Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances. Infectious diseases are caused by contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
