The Physical Therapist evaluates patients to establish diagnoses and develops individualized plans of care. They implement treatment interventions and perform ongoing evaluations throughout the episode of care.
Requirements summary
A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy is required, with a Master or Doctorate preferred. A state license from the Rhode Island Department of Health is also required, and new graduates will be considered.
The Physical Therapist reports directly to the Clinical Manager and/ or Assistant Clinical Manager (ACM) of their respective department and may receive clinical guidance from senior staff and/or clinical specialists. The Physical Therapist completes comprehensive examinations of body structure to determine functional impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions. The Physical Therapist establishes diagnosis and prognosis; develops an individualized plan of care; implements treatment interventions; and performs on-going evaluations throughout episode of care. Qualifications
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required. Master or Doctorate level degree in Physical Therapy is preferred. State license issued by the Rhode Island Department of Health is required.EXPERIENCE:New graduates will be considered. However, pursuant to the state of Rhode Island Rules and Regulations for Licensing Physical Therapists, a licensed physical therapist shall at all times be responsible for the supervision of physical therapist assistants, supportive personnel, and students to ensure the safety and welfare of patients Provides consistent and thorough supervision of assistants, aides, therapists, and volunteers including cosigning notes, reviewing patient treatment plans and goals.
