Part-Time, Weekend Days, 2 / 12 hr shifts This position is located at our Freestanding Emergency Department, in Gulf Shores AL.

Baldwin Health - Freestanding Emergency Department, located at 3590 Gulf Shores Parkway, provides faster access to Emergency Care for people living in the area south of our main campus. We are dedicated to bring the same award winning quality care to this facility as our main campus Job Summary The MRI Technologist performs routine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures to support diagnostic and treatment services. This role ensures patient safety and comfort, produces high-quality images for physician evaluation, and maintains compliance with department protocols and safety standards. The MRI Technologist I is responsible for operating and maintaining imaging equipment, managing MRI supplies, and providing excellent patient care throughout the procedure.

Qualifications

Graduate from a Radiologic technologist education program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or an MRI educational program Have a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience within the last 3 years in a clinical setting Licenses and Certifications Possess a current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Registered Technologist (R.T. (R)(ARRT)) OR a current registration through the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT). Baldwin Health will allow a period of 6 months to persons applying as registry eligible to accomplish initial registration requirements Possess a current registration or be pursuing certification within one (1) year by the (ARRT) as a Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MR (ARRT)) OR registration through the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) Current, approved, CPR for healthcare providers Essential Functions Performs MRI procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images. Reviews MRI patient questionnaires and patient histories to identify potential contraindications such as implants or foreign bodies, ensuring safety during scans. Operates MRI and processing equipment proficiently, adhering to established safety guidelines and protocols. Educates and prepares patients for MRI exams, addressing questions and alleviating concerns to ensure patient understanding and comfort. Ensures compliance with MRI safety standards, including maintaining MRI safety zones and verifying patient and staff readiness before entering scan areas. Documents and correlates clinical history with exam findings, ensuring accurate and complete information is available for the radiologist. Maintains inventory of MRI supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and sterility as required. Verifies physician orders and patient identification prior to starting procedures to ensure accuracy and adherence to hospital protocols. Collaborates with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal imaging results and patient outcomes. Monitors and maintains MRI equipment functionality, reporting issues promptly to appropriate personnel. Provides instructions and support to patients during and after exams to promote understanding and satisfaction. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. . Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program and possess ARRT and BCLS certifications. ARMRIT certification is required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
