Occupational Therapist - Full Time The Lutheran Care Center at Poughkeepsie is currently seeking a full time Occupational Therapist to join our team. (Bonus paid in installments; eligibility and repayment terms apply) JOB SUMMARY: Manage the professional components of Occupational Therapy evaluations and treatments.
Assess and evaluate residents and establish goals and plans.
Re-evaluate goals and treatment plans in accordance with New York State code.
Document required medical record progress notes per NYS code.
Insure a physician orders treatments.
Makes recommendation to Director and/or Physician on resident response to treatment.
Provide input as a member of the Comprehensive Care Planning Team.
Make assignments and supervise the Occupational Therapy Assistant and Occupational Therapy Aide.
Familiar with facility policy and procedure.
Attend mandatory in-services and provide Occupational Therapy in-services as needed.
Assume department tasks as required including transportation, general housekeeping, sanitation, and cleaning of equipment as assigned.
Inputs data into computer.
Make rounds of all building on a regular basis to determine safety of the residents’ environment.
Regularly monitor wheelchairs, geriatric chairs and adaptive devices.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school. Must hold a current New York State license and registration.
