The psychiatrist will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, including evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planning for Veterans. They are also responsible for managing medications, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with VA documentation and quality standards.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree with an active, unrestricted medical license and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Additionally, they must possess current BLS, ACLS, and DEA certifications and be able to pass a federal background investigation.
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting a psychiatrist to provide on-site Psychiatry Physician services to eligible beneficiaries of the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center primarily located at 2002 Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, TX 77030. In addition to the main medical center, providers may be required to rotate to affiliated Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) as needed. Provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care to Veterans Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planning Manage and follow up on patients with serious mental illness Admit, treat, and discharge patients as appropriate Perform E‑consults and post‑discharge follow‑ups Ensure patients are seen within VA‑required timeframes Collaborate with VA mental health staff and interdisciplinary teams Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with VA policies Provide discharge education and follow‑up instructions Participate in peer reviews, case reviews, and quality evaluations Communicate test results in compliance with VA directives Attend required staff meetings, program meetings, and town halls Participate in Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement (QA/QI) activities Complete required performance and patient safety documentation Report patient safety incidents within required timeframes Assist with scheduling and emergency mental health coverage planning
