The Radiologic Tech performs outpatient and inpatient radiographic procedures using mobile and stationary equipment. They are responsible for maintaining patient privacy, verifying patient identification, and ensuring proper imaging techniques are applied.
An Associate's Degree in radiology or a related field is required, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred. Candidates must possess relevant licenses and certifications, including BLS and ARRT.
Interpersonal skills to interact and communicate effectively with patients, patient care givers, physicians, and other department personnel and coworkers to ensure quality patient care and present positive department and interdepartmental cooperation. Possesses a high degree of flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changing demand. Analytical skills to make independent decisions when dealing with complex equipment, sedation of patients, and critical care patients. Strong critical thinking, problem solving and attentiveness to detail required. Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and procedures as well as operation and maintenance of radiologic equipment as acquired through completion of an approved curriculum of Radiologic Technology. Basic computer skills to operate a computer efficiently and effectively. Ability to respond to clinical and administrative emergencies. An understanding of Children’s Wisconsin health care delivery system and the impact of other health care delivery systems on the patient and family. Licenses and Certifications BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required License Radiographer (142) - State of Wisconsin required ARRT - Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required Patient Care Responsibility Provides care appropriate to patient population and as described in applicable policies and procedures. This position would be working 7 days on and 7 days off with weekday hours of 0800-1830 and weekend hours of 0730-1800 and is eligible for our full Children's benefits.
