The Direct Support Professional assists individuals with daily living activities, mobility, and health management while fostering community integration. They are responsible for monitoring safety, implementing care plans, and providing accurate documentation of services.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and a valid Michigan driver's license. The role requires the ability to lift 50 lbs, basic computer skills, and the capacity to become certified in CPR and First Aid.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports the individual goals of the person served and helps them become integrated into his/ her community in the least restrictive manner. The DSP may assist in areas of mobility, activities of daily living, communication, cognition, health management, social networking, vocational, leisure time management, and community participation.
