About the role

The radiographer is responsible for performing high-quality X-ray imaging for diagnostic purposes as directed by a radiologist. They must also maintain equipment, ensure patient safety and comfort, and manage patient records in accordance with professional guidelines.

Responsible for X-raying patient using radiologic equipment that produces radiographs (x-rays) of body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the Radiologist. Generates high-quality images of patients in order to assist with diagnosis and treatment. Prepares and maintains records and files as directed.

Principal Accountabilities

1.

Performs and provides appropriate imaging and treatment processes in accordance with state, federal, and professional guidelines.

2.

Demonstrates knowledge of a variety of imaging equipment including setup, utilization, troubleshooting, and proper care and sanitization of all equipment.

3.

Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient queries or concerns.

4.

Maintains all equipment for procedures, assesses safety, physical, and physiological comfort of patient.

5.

Monitors need for procedure revisions and coordinates daily imaging procedures.

6.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited radiography school and hold current NJ State Radiologic Technologist and ARRT certifications. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required for this role.
