The sonographer performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients of all ages and assists licensed practitioners with interventional techniques. They are responsible for maintaining patient records, ensuring safety, and managing emergency situations until medical teams arrive.
Candidates must hold a certification such as ARRT(S), RDMS, RDCS, or RVT and possess a degree from an accredited sonography or radiologic technology program. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required for continued employment.
