The Surgical Technologist assists in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, managing instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment. Additionally, the role supports maternity patient care needs, including vitals collection and newborn hearing screenings.
Fairview has an immediate opening for a Surgical Technologist in the Labor and Delivery Department at Woodwinds Hospital, located in Woodbury, MN. As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, arranging, and passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the operating room.
Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program AST certification or certification eligible at time of hire 1 to 3 years surgical tech experience Other Required Skills: Knowledge of physical, psychosocial, and cognitive developmental needs of population served. Knowledge of age-appropriate outcomes and interventions. Desired Skills: Demonstrate the ability to work under stress in a variety of situations. Ability to work well under a team environment.

Candidates must hold a Military Surgical Assistant credential, LPN license in MN, or completion of a Surgical Technologist training program. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required by the hire date.
