The Radiologic Technologist performs daily operations in the Cardiac Cath Lab, including scrubbing for diagnostic and interventional procedures and hemodynamic monitoring. They are responsible for patient safety, equipment maintenance, and assisting cardiologists during invasive procedures.
Candidates must be a graduate of an ARRT-accredited school with an Associate degree and hold a current NYS license. At least 2 years of experience in Radiologic Technology is required, with preference for Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology experience.

Assists Cardiologist in performance of diagnostic invasive procedures. Maintains operational knowledge of Cath Lab equipment according to manufactures specifications. Assists and performs diagnostic invasive procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Scrubs and assists Cardiologist as requested. Responds to patient distress situations and assists with equipment quality control and inventory management. Prepares sterile trays, instruments, supplies and equipment necessary for procedures, and maintains sterile field. Provides all appropriate services to safely and efficiently complete patient procedures. Maintains knowledge of cardiac concepts and clinical practices. Ensures patients are correctly prepped and draped in a sterile fashion. Possesses the knowledge & skills level of basic and complex invasive procedures which may include: Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), stents, IABP placement and operation and peripheral interventions. Responsible for patient safety in the CCL and must be able to recognize cardiac arrhythmias and respond according to emergency protocols, operate external cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator. Intervenes with appropriate therapy in the event of cardiac emergencies. Maintains, troubleshoots and operates fluoroscopy equipment to ensure operability and safety. Calibrates equipment and performs routine preventive maintenance procedures. Assumes off premise call responsibilities as required to assure complete call coverage. Collects all pertinent diagnostic data and all necessary calculations for physician's interpretation of results. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of Department procedures and protocols. Capable of setting acquisition factors for optimal image quality. Capable of positioning patient for optimal images. Capable of following protocols for specific exams Capable of evaluating images for quality. Capable of accurately following physician's instructions. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of Imaging department policies. Consistently follows patient identification policy. Understands the correct exam needed and patient factors Documents any changes/variation to protocol on requisition. Follows all P+P regarding use of ISTAT (per sites worked)
Education: Graduate of an AART Accredited School of Radiologic Technology, receiving an Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology.
Problem solving ability and attention to detail is preferred Good written and oral communication skills preferred. Requires ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely and adjust to changes in work volumes.
Must be able to push, pull, bend, safely transfer patients and ambulate without assistance. Job requires standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping/walking. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs.
Standard Rate of $36.25 to $45.87 per hour plus benefits
