Description Outpatient Group Clinician (Part-Time)New York, NY

We’re looking for a passionate and dynamic clinician to join our outpatient team and lead meaningful group experiences that support clients on their recovery journey. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, values holistic care, and is energized by helping individuals build sustainable, life-changing progress. As an Outpatient Group Clinician, you’ll facilitate engaging, clinically sound group sessions that support clients in Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient (OP) levels of care. You’ll play a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and transformative space where clients can explore recovery through a whole-person approach—mind, body, and spirit.

  • Role: Lead engaging IOP and OP group therapy sessions using evidence-based and holistic approaches Create a supportive and inclusive group environment that fosters connection and growth Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, coordinated care Respond to clinical needs in real time, including crisis intervention when necessary Support drug and alcohol screening processes as needed Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record Participate in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field Active New York provisional license/permit (LMSW, MHC-LP, or MFT-LP) required Independent licensure (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT) strongly preferred Experience facilitating group therapy required Outpatient or substance use treatment experience preferred Why Join Us? Rates vary based on the nature of the work performed (clinical vs. non-clinical responsibilities), as well as experience and credentials. Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions. This is not a fee-for-service position. Non-clinical hours: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour Clinical hours: $55.00 – $80.00 per hour

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in a mental health field and an active New York provisional license (LMSW, MHC-LP, or MFT-LP), with independent licensure preferred. Candidates must have experience facilitating group therapy, preferably within outpatient or substance use treatment settings.
